How long have you been CrossFitting? 7 Months


What is your favorite WOD/Exercise? I love olympic lifts, especially lifting on the heavier side/lower rep range.


What is your least favorite WOD/Exercise? I have to say burpees are tough, but I know they're good for you!


What is your previous workout/athletic background? I played lots of sports growing up, and have been lifting in the gym on and off for about a decade.


What was your first experience at CrossFit Cayman like? After a great onboarding with Matt, the first workout was a pretty big reality check haha! I learned a big lesson about pacing yourself during my first workout. 


What results have you seen since CrossFitting? I've seen a big overall increase in my fitness level, especially with high intensity workouts combining a high heart rate and lifting weights. I've also improved on skills like kipping pull ups, skipping and toes-to-bar, and I've improved my technique and strength on olympic lifts. 


What do you do to get yourself through a tough workout (mental thoughts, tips and tricks, etc.)? I try to set myself a goal at the beginning of the workout and break up the workout into smaller chunks. I also benchmark myself to others in the class at a similar level as me.


What's your favorite aspect about working out at CrossFit Cayman? I love the intensity of the workouts. You're exhausted after only a 15-20 minute workout, but you walk out of the gym feeling better and stronger for the rest of the day. It's a different way of training than a long session of weightlifting in the gym with frequent breaks, but it feels like Crossfit builds a much more foundational fitness.


What advice do you have for someone thinking about joining CrossFit Cayman? Do it! The coaches are great, the members are friendly and encouraging, and the new space is awesome! I've never felt more fit and strong in my life.
