Age: 49 (just)

How long have you been CrossFitting? 8 years (wow it does not seem that long ago!)

What is your favorite WOD/Exercise? Longer WODs where you have to pace yourself, still enjoy wall balls but my new favorite is Kipping Pull Ups.....

What is your least favorite WOD/Exercise? Sprinters like Fran.

What is your previous workout/athletic background? Rugby was my main sport, first playing and then as a referee. Also enjoy golf.

What was your first experience at CrossFit Cayman like? One of “yes I can do this” not because I was fit (I was not) but because it was totally scalable and I was made to instantly feel welcome.

What results have you seen since CrossFitting? The key is what I would call “long term” fitness, I have slowly got stronger and much more importantly, flexible. To coin Matt, it is about making you fit when you are in your 80s not next week and I completely agree with that.

What do you do to get yourself through a tough workout (mental thoughts, tips and tricks, etc.)? “One step (or burpee!) at a time”, ie don’t look at the whole thing but focus on what you are doing next. It then gives you not just a physical work out but a mental workout as you can’t think of anything else and it is quite refreshing to switch off from everything= else.

What's your favorite aspect about working out at CrossFit Cayman? The community, like rugby, I love the way that all of the members and coaches support each other and have fun

What advice do you have for someone thinking about joining CrossFit Cayman? Do it, you won’t regret it. The key is that you can do it at your pace and not be judged by anyone. The whole Crossfit community at Cayman Crossfit are the best.
